Gualala was just named one of the best 50 places to live in the US. It is a perfect vacation destination to explore the beautiful northern California coastline. Mendocino is a great escape from the hectic pace of the big city. There is very little traffic and a breath-taking mix of blue ocean and green mountainsides. Many say that the highlight of the Mendocino County wine region is its quaint boutique wineries.
What sets us apart from other vacation homes in the area is our fantastic location, overlooking Cooks Beach, the southern coast and the southern coast. You will be able to have unobstructed ocean views out of 15 windows, with different views whichever way you look, and a changing scenery from morning till night. The kitchen is ideally located on the southern side of the home with a large 460 sq/ft deck to give plenty of outdoor dining space. We also have three more decks located around other parts of the home to take advantage of the wonderful views.
There are two Smith & Hawken teak benches, a large table and two single teak chairs on the deck to provide comfort to enjoy the outdoors. The views from the deck are unbelievable. Just look through our view section to get a taste. The other decks also feature teak outdoor furniture to be able to relax and enjoy the scenery and wildlife. We have two large air tubs that provide a wonderful relaxing massage. The master-bath tub has a wonderful white-water ocean view and also features a two- sided gas fireplace, providing a relaxing, cozy atmosphere with a click of a button.
Come and enjoy this beautiful area. We love the north coast especially in the winter months, with it's changing ocean views every hour of the day. Storms are exciting and show the power of nature.
Winter is a special time on the north coast. We love the changing ocean, clouds, sunsets, rain, sun and winds. It also provides a great opportunity to be close to nature and wildlife, especially birds. We have a bird house on the southern side of the large deck. It is amazing to see the variety of birds come and enjoy the food. You can watch it from the kitchen window. This home is also very well insulated and has passive solar heating, due to its southern sun exposure. There are three gas-burning fireplaces that provide heat and atmosphere as well as a forced air heating system to heat up the home fast.
The close proximity to the town of Gualala provides easy shopping, post office, supermarkets, Organic foods, farmers markets, restaurants, gas stations, cafe's, and much more. The Gualala Arts Center features music and artwork. There are also local galleries of fine art and sculpture.
Exemplary quality and visual interest somehow manage to encompass, without overwhelming the inherent beauty of the enduring land and sea beyond. Hand-selected artisan tile, richly colored fabrics and furnishings, and original artwork evince a unique aesthetic standard. While the home is named “Seascape” there is much to be appreciated within the walls, as well.
